After I drive somewhere for a while my explorer starts making this loud humming sound. It only does it while I am stoped somewhere but when I accelerate it goes away. When I slow down it comes back. Please can some one tell whats up with it or list the possible reasons what could be making it do so. THANK YOU

The noise is from the front and not the back. So what do you think it could be now?

After I put it in park the noise stoped and started again. Also when I tried to pin point the noise it sounded like it was coming from the top or center of the block. It also sounded maybe like it could be coming from the trany or drive train. I hope thats enough info on the noise because thats all I got.?

Yeah when I put in park the noise went away then it came right back. Then I told my girl friend to put it in drive and hold the brake. When she put in drive the noise went away again then it came back again. The noise stayed in one spot. It was the same noise and pitch. I guess I could say that the noise never goes away really cause cuts out then it comes back and its a costant sound thats very loud. Except when I drive faster 25 MPH.
