Transmission problem
1999 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 168km miles

The trans indicator in the odometer shows between P and D while in the parking position and same in every gear its in between the next two. The Trans shifts hard and slips sometimes especially when its cold. Whats the problem?

You need to see if it has the right fluid level, if it okay, then, your modulator valve is bad,as for indicator shows between p and d, thats your transmisson shift, is improperly adjusted,or is damaged. i,am sending you a picture of the modulator.
