My 2wd/4wd light is flashing.I looked under the car and saw fluid on the front pumkin. Could it be the gaskit and very low on fluid?

The differential has nothing to do with the 4wd. Will the transfer case shift from 2 to 4wd?

Does the car have electric shift 4wd or manual? IF electric, check the 4wd actuator on the transfercase to see if it is getting power when you have a helper push the button for 4wd. If it is, the actuator is most likely bad. . Not uncommon.

It is manual, so you have to turn the knob to change to 4WD.

You need to check to see if there is power to the actuator on the transfer case. If there is power, the actuator is bad. This is not an uncommon problem.
