4.0 SOHC engine. My Explorer lost all compression. It turns over like all the spark plugs are gone and using a compression gauge it has no compression. The engine does build oil pressure and I can see the left cam gear turn when cranking it with the starter. The fan does turn so I can rule out a broken crank or timing chains. What is my next option?

Is there 0 compression or is it just low? For there to be 0 the valves have to be open, holes in the pistons, or the timing is completely off.

Let me know.

The compression is 0 and I applied air thru my compression tester hose and I can hear the air flow change from the intake to exhaust but no air flow from the valve cover breather so I don't think it is holes in all the pistons.

It has been the better part of a week and I have not gotten a response since my last post.
I guess they want some money. That isn't going to happen and I am not recommending this site to anyone.
Nice try 2carpros but you have fallen short on this problem.
