How do I remove the interior door panel to get to replce the drivers side mirror on a 1998 Ford Explorer, Eddie Bauer

There should be a few hidden screws in the door panel, usually behind the door handle or armrest area. Remove these, then the rest of the door panel is held on with plastic clips from behind. You have to pry out on the panel to pop the clips out of their positions. Clips do break fairly easily so be gentle when prying out, although most auto part stores have a pack of clips for just a couple dollars.
