I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bower 5.0liter with 155000 miles. When I cut the air or heat on it comes out of the rear units but nothing on the front dash. The defrost will not come on also. I jumped the blower and it worked fine. What could it be?

Sounds like the Blower Resistor:
Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Disconnect the wire connector from the resistor assembly.

Remove the 2 screws attaching the resistor assembly to the blower or evaporator case and remove the resistor.

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Check the blower motor for proper operation in all blower speeds.
