1997 Ford Explorer transfer case noise

I have a whining noise that starts at about 30 and gets louder at 65mph its whining pretty good, I am thinking it is the transfer case. Your opinion please

Ok if you have the car in 4x4 it might wine. But check and see if you have the car in 4x4. Is it a manual transmission?If so you should check the fluild. Or it could be your rear end wining as well.
