1997 Ford Explorer Transfer case

I just put a transfer case in my ford explorer and when I put it in gear it won't do anything. Looked over to see if I might have missed hooking something up and didn't see any. Maybe someone can tell me what I did wrong

Are you getting power to the actuator on the transfer case?

I don't know. How can I tell? And someone told me it might also be when I put the elec motor on it might be out of gear, can this be so?
