v-6 SOHC, XLT After 5-10 miles O/D light comes on and stays flashing throughout whole trip. Pressing the O/D button on shift lever prompts a downshift. I have tried the unhooking the battery "trick" No change in O/D flashing, still does it. Help please.

this indicates a fault with your transmission. normally something such as a failing shift solenoid or sensor. will need to have reputable tranny shop run diagnostic on it to pinpoint the culprit, otherwise it would be a guessing game on replacing parts.
