Hello, my sister have a 97 explorer V6 SOHC. Every time she start her truck it feels like it going to die and every time she stop in a traffic light it does the same thing the engine idle it up and down cold or hot. About 15-20k ago I replace all the plugs and wires (BOSCH) and when she brought it to me I scan it with my code reader and shows P0300 multiple engine misfire. So I got her a new coil pack and replaced it the truck improve but after I reset the code the same code came back after 2 days and it's doing the same thing again. Im planning on cleaning the throttle body and checking/clean the area around the egr valve. Could you guys please give me some good direction where to start. Thank you very much:):):):):)

Sounds like you have it figured out, but first I would check for a vaccum leak or manifold leak.

Start the car up and let it idle then take a can of carb cleaner, spray the manifold on top under it and around the gaskets, if the idle is changed then you found a leak, do the same for the vaccum lines and pcv line and the air cleaner lines.

Bascially spray it everywhere and see if idle is changed.

If that is negative then take off the IAC module and make sure the pintle is moving freely also clean out the throttle body.

Also clean the EGR valve and its ports as you suggested and install new gaskets.
