Recently when my husband was driving my explorer to work, while he was going up hill, the car just quit going forward. We previously had no problems with the car transmission or otherwise. The car shifts into gear but will not move. There was no noise, trouble or any other indication that the transmission was going. The computer showed no trouble codes. Does the transmission need rebuilt or is there something else that may be wrong?

Hi there,

Did you have a scan done, as a fault light will not always show up. there is not very much that you can do apart from check the codes and oil condition, this will be one for a transmission specialist to investigate first hand.
