Is it better for me to buy a new mass air flow sensor or just clean it with some throttlebody cleaner and will
it still do the same thing

I would attempt to clean it. If the fault is still occuring once cleaned. Replace it. Sometime's cleaning works. You can purchase MAF cleaner from an autparts store !
