1996 Ford Explorer wont shift

Leaving a stand still, wont shift outta first gear unless I let off gas. All other gears shift normally. O/d light blinking

Start be having it checked for trouble codes. The blinking O/D light means that the PCM has detected a problem in the electronic controls. Post back with code(s).
