This may be caused by the shift speeds of the automatic transmission and flexing between the transfer case and the transmission. ACTION Use the following procedures based on vehicle build dates to install an automatic transmission-to- transfer case brace and/or reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The brace will add stiffness to the transmission-to-transfer case interface and reprogramming the PCM will change the transmission shift speeds. Refer to the following SERVICE PROCEDURE for details.
