This explorer has been setting for about 2 years since it was last running and I installed new battery cause it was bad and put fresh gas in it but it will not start now; owner said it ran fine before it was parked. What advice do you have on what steps I need to go through to find the problem.

Start with a new or fully recharged battery, not a jump. The PCM and sensors need a minimum of 9v to operate at all. Then determine what's missing, the engine needs three things to run, Spark at all plugs, gas to all cylinders, and compression in all cylinders, tho an engine may run lacking one in one cylinder, it won't run very well!
