1994 Ford Explorer freeze plugs

Pep Boys diagnosed my car with "leaking freeze plug". They say they cannot fix it at their shop. Who can do this and what is the cost. Also, is this something I (as a generally competent fixer if things mechanical) can do or is it beyond the average home guy. Thanks.I am in Vallejo, Ca 94590

I can't believe they can't fix it. The only problem is location. Do you know which one is leaking? As far as replacement, use a screwdriver to pry the old one out, clean the surface that it sits in, and tap a new one in place. If you can, I recommend using a rubber replacement. They push in and there is a nut on them that causes the plug to expand when tightened. Here, in PA, a steel OEM type is about a dollar and the rubber one I mentioned is about 5 dollars. If they can't fix it, I would be concerned. Keep in mind, you need to drain the coolant before doing this.
