1993 Ford Explorer vacumn modulator valve

My ford explore with auto transmission shows the
fluid level full the engine oil level was normal
but then one day the engine started smoking
I checked the transmission level it was empty
the engine oil level was then two or three quarts
above the normal range level what is the problem
I am thinking transmission vacumn modulator
valve, what do you think

Hello,

It could be, what color was the smoke.

Also check your radiator for tranny fluid.

Does the oil appear milky?

In all my years of Mechanicing I have never come across a bad TVM that dumped that much fluid into the oil pan.

YOUR RIGHT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, EASY CHECK REMOVE THE VACUM LINE THAT LEADS TO THE MODULATER AT THE T ON THE RIGHT REAR OF INTAKE MANIFOLD AND SEE IF TRANSS FLUID IS PRESENT.
