My fuel gauge no longer works. do I need to replace the fuel pump to fix it or is there another problem?

your fuel tank sending unit needs to be replace. fuel tank sending unit operation, is an electrical,or mechanical sensing device that sends information relative to some physical property, such as temperatyre or pressure to a gauge or light. also known as sensor unit. hear is a picture of it.
