I just bought a 92 ford explorer and the hand on the gas gage does not work. How would I see about getting that fixed?

Take off the wiring connector, and find the pin for the sending unit and hook up a jump wire to it and put it on a + voltage and make sure that the guage can display a full tank, then put on a negative ground of the vehicle and mkae sure it can display a empty tank, if that is good the fuel tank send unit is bad.

I believe thats a problem with the float sending unit on the fuel pump
