Stalls

I have an 96 ford escort 1.9 engine with 86k miles. When I stop at red lights the car acts like it's going to stall out but doesn't until I go to accelerate I cleaned out the carb and put fuel treatment in to clean out the fuel injector and there has not been any difference. Can you please help me I am on a very tight budget and can't afford to take it to a mechanic.

Check engine light is it coming On?

Item no.9 is the idle air control valve take it out and clean it for a start.

The check light has not once came on I also cleaned the control valve and there is still no difference. I do have one small correction to make it has 105kmiles sorry for the miss info. Thank you for your quick reply and help.

Do you have a repair manual-if so find the EGR open it up and clean off the carbon-pay attention on the passges it has to be cleared.

Also check the throttle position sensor-

The only way to catch this is to hook-up a scantool and view the live data if all the above has failed.

Thanx for your help. just to let you know it looks like this problem was caused by a bad spark plug. i figured it out when i saw sparks coming form it last night. i do appreciate your help very much and i will come to you guys before i go anywhere else, you have a client as long as you have a website.
