Rough idle and stalling

Hello I have a 1993 Ford Escort with a 1.9L engine and about 150,000 miles on it. My check engine light has started to come on. It's not on all the time, it's really random. When I'm driving at any speed over approximately 5-10 mph my car runs fine, but when I start to come to a stop my car will try to stall on me.

I wake up early for work and if it's cold in the morning I have no problem with my car whatsoever. Only after I get done work and it's hot outside does the light come on and the stalling and rough idle start.

Any help would be great

According to my daughter, the car runs the same without a/c, if the engine is cold, or on the highway. She did say that if she pressed down the gas peddle real hard on the highway, it would seem to run a little better for just a minute. Also, she was mistaken about having the fuel injectors cleaned--this has not been done yet.

Thanks for all your help!
