My father has a 1995 ford escort wagon. It has a 4cly. 5 speed. It has about 185000 miles. He just replaced the gas tank and the fuel pump. Now when he is down to a 1/3 of a tank and goes around a right hand turn he looses power and sometimes dies on him. He has replaced the new fuel pump and it is still doing it.

I have seen a bunch of wiring problem going to the tank. It probably is not getting enough power to the pump which will reduce flow/volume of gas. Check for power with a DVOM, not a test light to find if adequate juice is there.

Contortion of the body I would suppose. To aid in this, pul the back seat and while it's running wiggle the connector and wires.

Another thing to check is the inertia switch. You can jumper it to bypass it temporarily to see if it stops happening.
