Car will not turn over.

I have a 1999 Ford Escort, Manual Transmission, that will not turn over. It was running fine yesterday, but upon going out to the garage to start it up, the ignition turns on fine, but the engine will not turn over.

We recentlay had the alternator replaced, and it was running fine.

The oil is a little low, but not significantly so.

Your saying that it won't turn over. Do you mean the engine does nothing, no turning no noise, but the dashboard lights come on. Are the headlights bright when you turn them on? Also, check the fuse panel for the ignition fuse, it's marked ign, and see if it's blown.
