my brake lights won't go off. I have checked the obvious things.

Look on the brake pedal, find the BOO(brake on off) switch, disconnect it, do the lights go out? Or press the button in, if they go off, the switch is out of adjustment, loosen the jamb nut, adjust so the light go off and come on by just touching the pedal, or replace the switch.
