I have been dealing with a squealing noise coming from my car for the last 2 years. I have had a number of mechanics work on my car, replaced every pulley and belt, and the power steering pump. Still squealing. So then I have a mechanic tell me it's the cam pulley but Ford re-designed it and since I'm no longer under warrenty I will need to pay $400-500 for the part alone. He put a used one on my car and not only is it still squealing, but now it's rattlling/clicking and not accelerating correctly. Also it idles very rough and the same guy tells me that I need new motor mounts that Ford also re-designed and again I'm out of warrenty so it'll cost $200-300 for those. None of this includes labor and I have been unable to get any information from Ford or the internet even about these re-designed parts. I am at the end of my rope here. Please help! What is wrong with my car and what should I do now?

Hello, I would suggest that either you or your mechanic invest in a stethoscope to listen for your squealing and rattling noises. In the engine compartment sound travels and this tool should pinpoint where the noises are coming from. At least its a start in finding your noises.

I know this is a bit old, but I suspect part of your problem is a clogged crankcase breather filter.
