Transmission problem
1998 Ford Escort Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1998 ford escort lx, For some reason after I put any gas in it *full or not* the transmission slips badly. It mostly happens on a turn, and sometimes just giving it gas to go up a hill. Now the thing that I dont get is that after about 20miles it stops acting up. Any clue of whats going on? Oh and I dont know much about cars, so go easy on me. Lol

Hi ford guy. Well first check the trans fluid sounds like it may be low. Second get trans serviced. About 100 dollars. If that don, t fix it unfortuneately it will need to go to a trans shop thanks billymac

Thanks on the tips, I will get to that, tomorrow I am going to replace all filters and possibly the fuel pump, a couple of friends told me to check all that out before I end up spending for a new trans. Does anyone know how much it would cost for a complete engine rebuild? Anyway of getting around it really cheap?
