1998 Ford Escort car wont run

Hi ya my engine wont run but the drive belt turns and the timing belt is ok but not turning
the car broke down on me and made a noise as if something had broke there was a squeeking coming from somthing near the belts and then it started to run a bit rough now wont run at all please give some idea of what this might be thank you very much

Have to check if you have spark
and also check if fuel pump coming on and have fuel pressure
I would also double check timing belt and marks
not sure how to do it check are video collection
