hi,
My girlfriend bout her car from a guy and he said that the speedo didnt work but he had a new one put in but was to hurried to get back in his car and just didnt wait for them to plug it in, now what exactly does plug it in mean?
is it the sensor because the cable is pluged right in to the back of the gauge? What am I missing?

You car has no speedo cable. It is electrically driven. So it may be that the back of the cluster isn't plugged in or the the vehicle speed sensor isn't plugged in. You may have a problem with the speed sensor it self too. If you find that everything is plugged into the back of the instrument cluster then get back to me and have a digital multi meter handy as I will then tell you how to test the vehicle speed sensor.

It looks to me like everything is pluged in behind the cluster and ive got a multi meter I have no idea how to use so let me know what to do please. Thanks -sam

Ok unplug the VSS sensor and then set you meter on OHM's and then put you wires from the meter on the sensor. Putting one wire on one term and the other on the other term. Note the ohm's and let me know what you find.
