1997 Ford Escort engine coolant

I drained the radiator today to replace the coolant
and all I got out was about a quart and a half of liquid
from the valve at the bottom of the radiator. I assume this means I have to find the engine block valve to let water out of the block. Is there one and if so, where is it located. Thanks for the reply.
