1997 Ford Escort All gauges dead but fuel gauge

1997 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I bought a car and the lady said he father was working on the air and now all the gauges are dead except for the fuel gauge. The odometer, speedometer, therm., and trip meter all all non working. Could they have unplugged something when working on the air or could this be something all together different?

A start would be to check see if they are unpluged then take it from there.
