i need to replace the strutts in a 1996 ford escort wagon. What kind of tools and such do I need to do the job

THe necessary tools are straight forward. However, you will need a coil spring compressor. Most parts stores will lend or rent them to you.

Please be careful and follow the directions that come with the tool. A coil spring could kill you if it gets loose and hits you.

Also, the vehicle should be aligned after the job is done.
