I Have A 93 Ford Escort Lx Im Having A Problem Accelerating After Driving It For About Ten Minutes I Will Drive It For A Little Then When I Come To A Stop Light It Sputters And Jumps Around And Sometimes Cuts Off. Then When I Try To Accelerate It Goes Really Slow And Begins Picking Up Speed After About A Half A Mile Even With The Pedal To The Floor. Sometime When I Finally Get It To Start Going Faster I Hear A Loud Knocking Noise Then It Stops When It Gets Up To The Speed I Need It To Be, It Also Cuts Off When I Make U Turns Or Sharp Turns In Parking Spaces

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
