Noises problem
1993 Ford Escort 4 cyl Automatic

as I was driving down the road my car started making a light knocking noise then and as we drove it kept getting louder. What would cause that?

That's simply too general of a question. You or someone else is going to have to examine the vehicle and isolate down the location of the source of the noise for us to have any idea.
