I recently bought a 88 ford escort, it has about 170,000 miles on it. i just baught it to get me through my last couple months of high school and college. there isn't that much wrong with it, the onyl thing that needs imediate attention is the water pump. it has a 1.9L 4 cyclinder engine mounted sideways. I need to replace teh water pump, i think. I know that there is a hole near the saft that will tell me for sure if the seal has gone, but i can't find it. i was also wondering if anybody can point me toward the right direction in finding a diagram of how to replace teh water pump. i am porobally going ot invest in a chilton, i did for my lsat ford, but is there anywhere online where i can find this information out. thank you very much
