Ford has a service bulletin with an updated hybrid Battery Pack Cooling Fan kit 5M6Z-10C659-A is the part number. The procedure pays 3.1 hours and is a not particularly difficult more than it is time consuming. The cooling fans fail and the temperatures in the battery pack rise to an unacceptable level, which in turn keeps the vehicle from operating in EV mode.
