Engine Performance problem
2002 Ford Escape 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 km

I have spent $2000.00 so far on my truck, I washed the engine and 2 days later the truck was running rough at 20km and 80 km per hour, I brought it into the shop were the mech put it on the scope and found some codes so one by one he picked them off. So far I have replaced 3 spark plugs with coils, 1 egr valve and components, transmission solenoid sensor, a computer moduale that controls my lights and locks, and last but not least the catalytic converter. He took it for a ride and it was going well for 10 mins and at 80km it went rough again w / no pick up, He now says I need to replace the 2 other converters Totalling 1900.00 more, I feel this is ubsured, he also mentioned I could change the o2 sensors and that might fix the problem before we have to change the converters, Please Help, Going crazy and broke! Thanks Roman

See if you can get the codes. These will be very helpful in the diagnostics.

Don't replace the cat's because if they were plugged, the car would be running with little power all the time. Not just after the 10 minutes of running time as you mentioned.

Don't change the O2's either until they are tested with a good OBD-II scanner. If you can get the engine to run at a fast idle for an extended time (about a minute or more), a good scanner can plot the O2 voltages on a graph. Good O2's will give quick voltage fluctuation (between.2 to.9 volts). Voltage should fluctuate at least 5 times per second at steady high idle, engine at running temp.
