2001 Ford Escape catylitic converter is it stopped up?

My 2001 ford escape has a miss or hesitation and I took it to a shop and they think the catylitic converter is
stopping up. How can I figure this out is there a way
to test this. I have spent $90 and still do not know
whats wrong with my car.

i had plugs and wire put on last year and 1 coil pack
has been replaced.

If cat. Was pluged engine would not accelerate and you would have a loud roar. Not likely in your case. Is a check engine light on? If yes go to Auto Zone they will code Free then post. If no Clean throttle bpody and MAF
