We have a 2002 E-150 Traveler 7-passenger van. Something is happening with the transmission. It usually happens at approximately 42 mph. It seems to slip or chug. It may have something to do with locking up.

Might be a shift solenoid.

Check the computer for any transmission codes.

How often has the fluid and filter been changed?

The transmission was rebuilt by a Ford Dealer in January of 2008. Not sure if the fluid has been changed since then.

Okay, the fluid and filter should be fine. But you should check the level.

You need to see if any transmission codes have been stored. This may be a case of the being driven with a scanner to see what is happening in the data stream.

Possible shift solenoid, converter other performance ralated problem?
