2001 Ford E-Series Van Trans stalls

You can put in reverse backs up has torque doesn't slip. Put in drive strart reving engine, at about 3/4 throddle trans kicks in squeals tires doesn't slip, will shift, will go 70 no prblem, when you let off the gas it is like in nuetral till you rev it up and it kicks in again.

If reverse works normally, it sounds like there is a problem within the valve body. The clutch pack that drives reverse also drives 1st gear. Have you tried flushing the system or any additives?
