Ok I need to know some info so I can help. I need to know which engine you have 5.0 or 5.8ltr and weather or not it has a mass air flow meter and is it a E-150 250 or? Also how old is the fuel filter and the air filter? Do you have a digital multi meter so we can test a couple of sensor that usually cause this problem. Here is a pic of a mass air flow unit to help you with answering that question. It will look similar to this pic and be in the air intake hose between the air filter housing and the throttle body.

Ok I need you to do a couple of tests. One the fuel filter should be changed with the ethenol in our fuel today you chould change once a year or so. Then I would like you to test the Coolant temp sensor for me. I need you to unplug the sensor and get me an ohms reading of the sensor. Then get back to me the ohms of resistance and if you do this when it cold then give the air temp at the time of the test as well. Thanks.
