I have a 98 Crown Victoria Ford, 189,000+ restored police car 8 cylinder. My shifter broke and I got it replaced. They said the cable rotted out so that was the only thing they had replaced. When I drove it home today it made a hissing sound on the driver side. Only in drive will it make this sound. When I accelerate it will slowly stop. When I slow down or brake it makes the hissing sound. Please get back to me on what you think it may be.

Sincerely
Tori

By hissing do you mean a high pitch squeal? If so, by the description you're telling me, that would be the wear indicators on your brake pads telling you to get the brakes looked at. Get the brakes checked as soon as you can.

It is like someone is letting the air out of a balloon. It seems to be coming from underneath the car or maybe out of the air vents. In new revelations my car will not even start. It wont turn over or anything. But the lights and such work. One disaster after another.
