My 99 Crown Vic (109,000) has been clunking when Turning sharp out of our driveway over the bump and shaking when brakes applied at speed. The tire and brake shop told me upper ball joints and front sway bar bushings were bad. Also the rotors were warped causing the shaking at speed. I had the ball joints and bushings replaced by the shop yesterday ($690.62) and I drove it straight home and repalced the brake pads and rotors myself (to stay within my budget) Once I had the tires off I saw the new upper ball joints on both sides, but I did not see new sway bar bushings. Where, exactly are the stabilizer bar bushings located? The cost for those were $113.00. I also found a nut they lost for the upper ball joint that they replaced with a non-locking type.
The car drives beautifully now, front end noises and shaking is gone.
