2000 Ford Crown Victoria knocks

A couple of days ago I noticed a knock comeing from some were in the engine I could not figure out from the exact poit but it only happend when I gave it a little gas if I gave more gas it went away until today it was not a proble it does not make the noise while idleing but if u give it gas it sounds horrible I was told it was the lifter or the rod whats youre opinion

Hi there,

A faulty lifter will tick, but if you are developing a bearing problem this will knock, it will be a deep and hollow sounding knock and it will be constant with engine speed, I would get a mechanic to listen to it ASAP as if it is a bearing problem you run the chance of destroying the engine if you let it go on for to long.
