I have a 1999 ford crown vic interceptor. The ignition coils keep going bad. Is there something that can cause this?
I keep replacing coils but that gets expensive.

Could be the problem if plugs wrong type or gap incorrect would cause coils to heat up. Also good to ues Dielectric jell on plug contact.

Is there something that regulates the voltage sent to the coil? Like 12 volts when starting the car and down to 6 volts when running? Perhaps stays at 12 volts for some reason and damages the coils?
