Battery light goes off and on. Alternator reads okay says battery okay but needs charged

Hi: If you have confirmed the alt. Is ok, the first thing that comes to mind is perhaps a slipping belt.
If you could articulate further we may have more to go on, but the belt problem is worth visiting.
