Engine Cooling problem
1996 Ford Crown Victoria 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Today I noticed that it looked like antifreeze was spraying out onto the engine after adding some in the coolant resevoir and all the coolant was leaked out and the resevoir was completely empty. Where could this be leaking from? Thanks for you reply.

Check the hoses, sometimes hoses get a pinhole leak in them and when the coolant builds up pressure the coolant will spray out simuiluar to a garden hose nozzle. Most times this happens around connections where the hose goes on the for example, radiator or thermastat housing. A little hole can spray coolant all over your engine and elsewhere. Fill the car with water and lstart it, as it runs it will build up pressure and leak, look where ther coolant is coming from. Be careful the watter and coolant will get very hot. Once you have found where it is coming from you can replace the hose. If in an emergency situation and the hole is close to a fitting, the hose can vbe cut down a little and reattached to the inlet.
