CHeck engine Light on. AGAIN!

Bought a 1997 Ford Contour automatic about 118k miles last of April 07, on 05/15/07 the check engine light came on. Mechanic said was vacumn hose under intake manifold and replaced the hose. Now less than 30 days later check engine light is on again. Am I to believe that I now have another problem or what? I am now not sure if I should take back to same place or not.

Check engine lights can have many different sources. Some problems are hidden and can not be found out until one problem is fixed.

You need to find a place that you can trust. If you trust this one as much as any other one, then yes, take it back. There are many advantages to keeping your business at one place. There are a larger separation from shops that stay current with technology than ones that don't. IF they are staying up with it, then that should be a factor.

When you have a 10 year old car, expect to have to put a thousand or two a year into it.
