1998 Ford Contour location of trany filter

I am trying to locate thee trany filter on my car.
My car lost power an wants to go into gear but isnt going into gear. I talked to a place an they told me to drop the trany pan an check for shaveings an there is none, so I am attempting to try to replace the filters an see if thats the problem. I took apart the pan an the front but I see no place for the odd shapped filter! So where would the filter be at?
