1998 Ford Contour 85000 miles

I have been told that a catalytic converter as failed.
I cannot afford the cost I have been quoted right now.
What damage will my vehicle sustain if I drive it without replacing the converter?

no damage to vehicle unless the convertor is clogged. if not clogged only damage your doing is damage to the atmosphere and youll fail emissions testing so may hurt your wallet.
