1998 Ford Contour

My 1998 contour just died I put the pedal down and it was like a diesel when it jells now it just turns over but won.T start I changed the fuel pump and filter still won/t start checked timing belt and it looks ok and it is getting spark can you help

Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light.

Yes I herd the fuel pump come on and I think there is pressure because the fuel is reaching the engine

Check the fuel pressure with a guage-EFI don't like low pressure and also make sure the injectors are pulsing
